A further speciality of the Panchachuli women weavers is the treatment and processing of the giant nettles which grow in the Himalayan plateaus. The plants are gathered in autumn and are processed into yarn using an elaborate process.

The knitted nettle shawls are beautiful summer accessories which can either be used as light scarves or, underlain with silk and with inlaid wooden pearls, as an exquisite shoulder wrap for warm summer evenings.

Pouch bags Size: 10x10 cm, small bags made from nettles, underlain with silk and with added embroidered glass pearls. They can be wrapped round the waist or attached to a belt.
Dyes
When dyed, nettle yarn keeps its natural earthy tone. The gold and khaki tones are especially beautiful.
