Unlike traditionally produced silk, tussar silk is a wild silk. It comes from the cocoon of a silkworm that lives in the oak forests of the Himalayan plateaus. These are collected by the women and made into silk yarn.

The woven shawls and stoles are made from pure silk or from a silk-wool mixture, which is suitable for colder weather.
The silk-wool shawls are available in a selection of 160 colours.
